SPIDOLHITAM AND PROPAGANDA
As a a part of digital art community, I am fully aware that propaganda is also a part of art. They say it is the art of propaganda. Some of them really good as an art and really make meanings toward the audience.
In my opinion propaganda is used to lift up spirit and bring moral message.
Propaganda is not supposed to be used to broadcast hate, discreditation, lies, and used as a tool to break peace, or especially used in terms as fuel of war. Propaganda is not the same as hate speech. I believe that even propaganda can be used to broadcast peace or freedom of speech, in matter that is for a better humanity. I have one time confronting with this type of cheap propagandist. It then become an idea for me to make an art. What I really want to make is a propaganda that is neutral, yet sharp like a samurai sword, and not taking any side but to peace it self.
I wrote this as a respond to the movie fitna. Iam telling you that saying awful things about other religion is not cool. Especially on public. I mean, this guy never learn about islam, he merely make representation on his own idea.
On many major universities there are so many anthropologist that really study islam (they’re not moslems), and they spend many years researching, studying, living among moslem, and ask them, is it true what wilder say about islam?
But one thing I know, that a person who play i politics can really do serious damage sometimes. Not only in Netherland but the whole world I suppose. The act of al-qaeda was once said to be the dissapointment of Saudi Arabian political stands. Bush attacked Iraq also based on political stands. Blair, Howard, even countries like Japan getting involved due as political condition.
If you want real opinion, go ask an intelectual, not a politician. What really needs to be done is stop the war. And not fuel another one.
