I love traveling. I love to see the view from the window of a train or a bus. I have travel most of the Java Island. From the east part to the the west. I prefer city travel than to travel to the forest or mountain. I like to explore the traditional markets. The streets, the railways, the people, the folks tales, the history. I’m not much of a tourist, I just travel. The main destination of my journeys were not the place that i head for but much more to the journey it self. Although much I wanted to stay the night on the streets, but sometimes the weather was not friendly. It is necessary to put a comfortable accomodation to my list so I can protect my self form harm, illness, or loosing my stuffs.

I never went abroad. I hope I could go abroad someday. I often imagine my self enjoying the dance of spanish people in Barcelona, capturing images of gothic buildings in Prague, seing the Big Ben of London, the friendly people of Dublin, the busy streets of New York, or the magnificent Rome.

If so then perhaps accomodation is an essential part of my list. Hotels that easy to book, maps, trading currency, some local basic speaks, and so many other important things.

The most important message of course not to be a big spender. Traveling is much fun, but fun is not the most important in life.

I have a good friend who i consider is successful in his age. He make a very good amount of money but still a humble and simple man. He is the type of guy that work a lot and not talk a lot (not like me). He makes a gross income of 5000 dollars per month (it is some number in Indonesia). And still growing his income.

This friend has a long experience of business. A lot of ups and downs. But still have some time to have a stupid chat with a stupid friend like me. He is the guy that teach me a lot about having a realistic plan and stick with it. That somehow reminds me to an illustration in a book of a turtle racing with a rabbit, the turtle say “I am going just to follow my original plan, i am going to take a slow step by step, and reach the finish lane”.

Back to my friend. He start doing his business with really simple sets of tools. He have like only 50 dollars in his pocket but he keep on telling himself “I can do this”, he bought used stuff and start to make a really modest set of display. Along came a spider. His business was collapsed on the first try.

But he kept on going. He stick with his plan. Learned from the first mistake. And make series of correction. This time his business going stronger. It is time to expand and going higher. He face a problem where his surrounding people underestimating his plan. But then he keep going with a very small budget to execute his plan. Once proven the method is working he was asking for an upgrade and he was approved to use larger amount of cash.

My friend was a good sample of a man that uses his equipment in an efficient way. He choose his equipment NOT from what is expensive or what is cheap. But mainly concern to what is right for his business. He doesn’t cry like a baby whenever things are just not right for him, but instead offer and finding solutions. Thanks to his concept, I could do some little change in my life. With my small income, I gradually improve my set of tools, clear my debt to as lowest is possible, as well as improving my income. I manage to support my family. And still keeping expense as low as I can. Message of the day is : set your plan, set your goal, being simple, being modest, and being humble.

Saking bosen dan kesepiannya, saya putuskan untuk ngobrol saja sama Ridwan Susanto.

“Ridwan, kamu pengen jadi blogger gak?” tanya saya sama si Ridwan Santoso yang lagi garuk-garuk punggung. Dengan sedikit menoleh dengan ekspresi gak peduli Ridwan Susanto menggeleng.

“Loh kenapa nggak?” kata saya yang rupanya ngiri lihat si Ridwan Susanto asik menggaruk punggungnya, saya jadi ikut-ikutan nggaruk punggung.

Ridwan Susanto menjelaskan, jadi blogger itu mahal dan butuh modal. Butuh komputer, butuh internet. Jadi tukang sapu kereta aja, seperti dia, cuma butuh modal sapu patah. Jadi blogger itu juga membosankan, duduk terus di depan komputer ngetik sambil blogwalking ke blog-blog lain. Kalau dia walking ya dari gerbong satu ke gerbong lain saja. Tiap hari dia ketemu ribuan orang yang baru dan berbeda. Dan kalau bosan nyapu ya udah ganti profesi aja ke pemulung botol bekas. Kalau bosen sama rute Jakarta-Surabaya, dia bisa aja ganti ikut kereta selain Kertajaya. Ikut saja kereta Pasundan, Logawa, Sritanjung, Brantas atau Gayabaru.

Jadi blogger itu jam kerjanya juga gak jelas. Lain dengan tukang sapu kereta, sudah terjadwal dengan rapi dan disiplin mengikuti jadwal kereta. Soal penghasilan, tukang sapu kereta jelas lumayan profitable karena ongkos maintenance alatnya yang murah. Soal jumlah penghasilan emang sih paling pol ya sekitar tiga puluh ribu sehari kalau lagi rame dan gak apes dipalak preman. Cukup buat makan dan beli nescafe atau pop mie di mbak-mbak asongan di stasiun Pekalongan yang manis-manis dan montok-montok.

Jadi blogger juga kadang-kadang menghalalkan segala cara sambil mengingatkan pada kejadian ngadutraffik (ini si Ridwan kok tahu juga, mungkin sambil nyapu dia nge-blog juga, lain kali saya telanjangi siapa tahu dia mobile blogging pakai PDA atau Asus EEE PC yang lagi ngetrend itu). Sebagai tukang sapu bisa aja dia nilep sandal atau barang-barang penumpang. Tapi itu akan menjadikan dia seorang pencuri. Dan dia gengsi dong kalau turun derajat dari tukang sapu ke pencuri.

Jadi tukang sapu juga gak pernah ada konflik atau masalah dengan piblic figure. Ahmad Dani gak pernah menyebut tukang sapu kereta bodoh. Lain dengan blogger yang kata Ahmad Dani orang-orang pengecut, bodoh, dan kurang kerjaan. Kalau ngurusin orang-orang bodoh ya kita ikut jadi bodoh begitu kata Ahmad Dani.

Tukang sapu kereta juga tidak pernah ada masalah dengan Roy Suryo. Karena Roy Suryo bukan pakar sapu tapi pakar IT. Roy Suryo gak pernah bilang tukang sapu kereta itu tukang tipu dan gak bisa dipercaya. Apalagi berkata kalau tukang sapu kereta akan bekerja sama dengan hacker-hacker untuk melawan rencana pemerintah yang akan mensensor situs-situs pornografi dan informasi menyesatkan. Yang seperti itu ya blogger.

Apalagi kalau para blogger tau si Ridwan Susanto pernah poto bareng sama Cinta Laura (Chinca Lawra), sambil menunjukkan sebuah sobekan tabloid bergambar Cinta Laura yang ditempeli poto hitam putih ukuran 3X4 si Ridwan Susanto yang lagi pakai seragam SD.
